I’ve been seeing a lot of owl-themed projects out there lately. Is it any wonder? I mean, let’s face it, there’s just something cute about owls in a way that isn’t so for any other bird of prey.
After adding the owl patch to Eli’s knee-pleat pants I didn’t quite have the owl quite out of my system. I decided this would be a perfect opportunity to continue using up the wool blanket I had accidentally felted and the remains of an old sweater.
There’s really not a whole lot to say about this one. It’s cushy and very huggable and it makes me smile.
I was featured!

Do you have a pattern for the large owl pillow. I have been looking for a large pattern and all I seem to find is those 9 inches or under. Would appreciate it if you could e-mail it. Thanks. Great job on the site. Love it!

I’m glad you like my owl. I am sorry I don’t have a pattern to offer you. I just freehanded a quick pattern on some freezer paper and have since thrown it away. Basically it was just a U shape with the upper sides curving in a bit and then a line dipping down to connect the two sides across the top. After I cut out the top and bottom pieces I folded the pattern piece in half and cut a curve out of the side to use for the wind pieces that I appliqued to the front of the owl body. For the eyes I traced the bottom of a drinking glass and then a smaller circle for the pupils. The beak I free handed. I wish I had something to send to you, but the best I can do is this description. I hope it helps. 🙂
