A couple of weeks ago Eli and I set up his water table outside for some good old messy sensory fun!
I had a partial can on Dollar Store shaving cream and some homemade finger paints left over from other activities.
A few cooking utensils added to the enjoyment.
So interesting to see the colors swirl and mix together!
But on a hot day, the clean up process proved to be the best part of all. This boy loves his garden hose!

So much fun going on there! Homemade fun always seems to be the best! Weather is getting chillier her in Chicago… it’s that darn fall that I love!
Here and there we get warm weather. I’m sure you remember the Chicago weather at this time of the year.

Yeah, and I miss it! I love the crisp air, even the drizzly days when you just want to hole up in a coffee shop with a good book. I really loved going to Caribou Coffee where they had comfy seating and a fireplace (and it’s where I met my husband!) I used to grade my students’ papers there. But these days with a small child in tow I don’t suppose I’d be vegging out much in coffee shops even if the weather were perfect for it LOL!

They’ll have a blast, and if you do it outdoors cleanup is a snap! Next time I want to increase the ratio of paint to shaving cream as after a while of mixing the colors really started to fade.
